FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about our classes, parties, studio policies, and more.
Applicable Age
We encourage families to enroll children in classes that align with their developmental stage. While our age ranges are thoughtfully designed to reflect the materials, pacing, and social structure of each class, we understand that every child is different.
If you're unsure whether a specific class is the best fit for your child, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re happy to talk through your child’s interests and help find the right match. Our goal is to ensure a safe, fun, and engaging experience for every young artist.
Students with Unique Learning or Developmental Needs
While Hello Huckleberry welcomes all children, our studio staff are not formally trained to support every learning or developmental need. If your child has unique needs that may affect their classroom experience, please contact us prior to enrollment so we can assess whether we are a safe and appropriate fit.
If we are unable to accommodate your child safely, or if doing so compromises the classroom environment, we reserve the right to cancel your registration at any time without refund. This helps us keep all children safe and supported.
Healthy, Happy Studio
To maintain a space that feels safe, inviting, and inspiring for all, Hello Huckleberry is a shoe-free studio. We ask that all children and adults remove their shoes upon entering and sanitize their hands before settling in.
These small rituals help preserve the cleanliness of our shared creative environment — ensuring our floors stay cozy, our materials stay clean, and our young artists can explore freely. Thank you for helping us nurture a healthy, joyful space for every family who walks through our doors.
Clothes for Messy Play
Creative expression at Hello Huckleberry is vibrant, tactile, and immersive. Children are encouraged to dive into the materials — from paints and pastels to clay and collage — in ways that engage both mind and body.
While we work with non-toxic art supplies, some materials may leave a lasting mark. We recommend dressing children in clothing that allows for full movement and welcomes a bit of creative wear-and-tear. A dedicated art smock or well-loved playwear is ideal for this joyful, hands-on environment.
Family Classes
In family/caregiver classes, a parent or caregiver must remain present and participate. These classes are not drop-off.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
- Children must be signed in and out by a parent or approved guardian.
- If someone new is picking up your child, you must notify us in writing.
- We are not staffed for after-hours care. Late pickups past 5 minutes will incur a $10 fee for every additional 10 minutes.
Illness Policy
Please do not send your child to Hello Huckleberry if they are exhibiting signs of illness—especially coughing, sneezing, heavy runny nose, or conjunctivitis (pink eye). If your child shows visible symptoms during class, we will ask you to pick them up immediately without refund.
A makeup class may be rescheduled for a later date at our discretion.
Potty Training
Children enrolled in drop-off classes must be fully potty trained and independent in the restroom. If your child is not yet potty trained, please enroll in a family-style or caregiver-present class.
Party Sizes
We’ve designed our parties to be intimate, high-quality experiences centered around creativity, care, and joy. Our standard packages welcome up to 15 children, ensuring each guest can fully engage with materials, receive thoughtful guidance, and move at a pace that allows for both making and memory-making.
If you're envisioning a larger gathering, please contact us to discuss—we’re happy to explore options and will advise on any applicable fees.
Photography & Media
We occasionally take photos of children during class and use them for our website, social media, and promotional materials. If you are uncomfortable with this, please let us know in writing and we will ensure your child is not included in any photography.
Makeup Classes
Due to limited class capacity and individualized prep, we do not offer makeup sessions for missed classes or late arrivals—unless otherwise arranged under the illness policy.
Behavior & Safety
We reserve the right to remove any child whose behavior is consistently disruptive or unsafe for themselves or others. No refunds will be issued in such cases. Our staff will always make reasonable efforts to work through challenges with kindness and communication before removal.
Weather or Emergency Closures
In the event of severe weather, natural disaster, or studio emergency, we will notify you of closures via email and/or text. No refunds are issued for closures beyond our control, but makeups may be offered at our discretion depending on the situation.
Liability Waiver
By enrolling your child in any Hello Huckleberry program, you agree to the following: You release and hold harmless Hello Huckleberry, its owners, employees, and contractors from any liability, claim, or cause of action arising out of or related to participation in classes, events, or on-site activities. This includes, but is not limited to, injury, property damage, illness, or accidents. You acknowledge that participation in art activities may include exposure to paint, scissors, glue, or other materials.
